付业佳我们到凤凰玩的最后一天到了离凤凰城外几十公里的南长城。南长城在中国的南方，与北京的长城对应，所以称为南长城。我们坐在车上，远远望去，长城建在高高的山上，听说它长约380余里，就像一条巨龙，盘绕着一座座山头。不久，我们来到了南长城的城门内，一进城门，就看见了一个很大的坪，听妈妈说这里是用来练兵的。现在的坪地上还画了一幅很大的围棋棋盘，听说中日两国的围棋大师还在这里交过战呢。在大坪的上面山坡上，我看到了几门大炮，听说这是用来防御的。我爬上了长城，长城全是用石头砌成的，一块石头都有一两百多斤重，砌成的城墙非常坚固，墙壁很高，真正是防御的铜墙铁壁。我跑上了长城，我跑到半山腰的时候，就有一点害怕了，实在是太高了。我不敢往上爬，干脆用手趴在地上往后退。来到妈妈身边，妈妈说不到长城非好汉，我想我不爬上去就不是男子汉。于是我喊爸爸和我一起再爬长城。爸爸爬到半山腰，实在是没力气了，这一次我却一口气爬到了山顶。我站在山顶的烽火台上得意地向爸爸挥手。在上面走了一段，我开始返回了，这回下去我一点也不害怕了。我一下去妈妈他们就使劲地夸我，我听了心里美滋滋的。坐在车上，望着渐渐远去的南长城，我想，下次到了北京，我一定要同爸爸一起爬上长城的顶峰，因为我们都是男子汉。

长城横亘中国北方辽阔的土地上，宛如一条巨龙盘旋于起伏的群山之颠，气势磅礴，庄严雄伟。那为什么要修建长城呢？原来战国时明灭元后，为了防止蒙古人卷古重来，从建朝第一年起，花了一百多年时间才基本完成建筑长城工程。长城非常高大坚固，是用巨大的条石和城砖筑成的。城墙顶上铺着方砖，十分平整，大约五六匹马可以并行。城墙外沿有两米多高的垛子，垛子上有两个小口，供了望和射击用。没隔三百多米就有一座方形的城台，是屯兵的堡垒，打仗时可以互相呼应。

据说长城还有一个美丽的传说呢！别急，听我一一道来。孟姜女的丈夫被秦始皇抓去造长城了，为了这件事，孟姜女哭得像个泪人似的。过了几年，她丈夫没有传话给她，孟姜女决定去找丈夫。孟姜女一路上费尽了千心万苦，终于来到了长城。她找呀找，找呀找，还是没有找到丈夫，她问了工友们，工友们说："范喜良已经死了，尸首被拉去镇城脚了。"孟姜女听了，一阵心酸，大哭起来，哭得天昏地暗，连天地都感动了。天越来越阴沉，风越来越猛烈，只听"哗啦"一声，长城倒了，范喜良的尸首露出来了。孟姜女非常伤心，纵身跳进波涛滚滚的大海。
